Uzbekistan carpets in the world market
Handicraft is one of the ancient human activities. This heritage has not lost its significance today.
There are many skillful artisans in Fergana region. They are sincerely working towards restoration of national values, development of ancient types of handicrafts.
Products of a private enterprise “Ismoiljon Gilamlari” (Carpets of Ismoiljon) in Kushtepa district are widely popular abroad. Silk carpets of such types as “Marble”, “Sun”, “Swallow”, “Flower of seven mountains”, “Sky” are exported to many countries of the world.
Making silk carpets requires patience, diligence and experience. It takes 1 to 3 years to create a medium-sized carpet based on a sketch of an ornament created by a designer. Here, each carpet is created based on the hard work of workers. Therefore, these products, sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow, fascinate buyers with a peculiar ornament.
More than 200 women are working at the enterprise. Its branches are organized in the villages of Solijonobod and Dehkonobod, dozens of new jobs are created. Last year, products worth almost 400 thousand dollars were exported, this year this figure will be increased. Production of different national clothes from adras and atlas has been launched. Trading centers have been established in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khorezm. There is also Uzbekistan – Turkey joint venture “Kushtepa Ipak Gilamlari”, established under the foundation of “Ismoiljon Gilamlari” enterprise.
